Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a yoga teacher to take this training?
Absolutely not! The only prerequisite to this training is that you have your own yoga practice. We highly recommend this training for teachers, parents, and other adults interested in helping young people or leading yoga classes for youth. You DO NOT need to be a yoga teacher already!
How long should I be doing yoga before taking this training?
We do recommend that you have your own yoga practice before starting this training, but we do not give a specific time period that you must be practicing. Some people practice so much yoga in a short amount of time that they learn a good deal in a short period of time, others float in and out of the practice for many years. We welcome all levels of yogis! If you have questions, we recommend that you reach out to us.
Can I register with the Yoga Alliance following this training?
To become a Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYT) with the Yoga Alliance, you must complete a 200-hour yoga teacher training and a 95-hour children’s yoga teacher training. You must also teach 30 hours of children’s yoga classes following completion of both of these trainings. If you are interested in learning more about becoming an RCYT, please visit the Yoga Alliance’s Website.
Can I get Yoga Alliance CEs for this training?
Yes! If you do not plan to pursue your RCYT through Therefore I Learn in the future, we are more than happy to provide you with CE’s. Both of our lead instructors are YACEPs.
